CONSIGNMENT SALE OF CHILDREN'S ITEMS IN HIGH POINT, NC GENERAL INFORMATION AND VOLUNTEER HELPER POLICIES |
Organizing and putting on the High
Point area WeeRuns sale event requires the efforts of approximately 250
volunteers! In addition to being fun (getting out of the house for
a few hours and conversing with adults!), your work shift entitles
you to shop early…before the Saturday crowd and ALL the consignors on Thursday night! We ask only that you commit to one
4-hour shift. You may choose any shift on any date, EXCEPT the
Helper Sale on Wednesday, February 8 (5:30 - 9:30 pm). This is the night you will be
shopping!
Or you may wish to be a VIP helper. Our VIPs shop before
anyone else, on Tuesday, February 7 (5:30 - 9:30 pm). These special helpers
commit to two volunteer shifts. One of these shifts MUST be
either the Helper Sale (Wednesday, February 8), a breakdown shift (Monday,
February 20 - Wednesday, February 22), or Item Pick-up Day
(Thursday, February 23 [10:00 am - 12:00 noon AND 5:00 - 7:00 pm]). In order to ensure an exceptional
shopping experience, we accept only a limited number of VIP helpers.
We’ll also need some strong backs for fixture set-up and breakdown shifts on
Thursday, January 26; Friday, January 27; Friday, February 24, and Saturday,
February 25. Your husband can earn
a VIP pass by agreeing to work one of these shifts.
As long as you uphold your
commitment to WeeRuns and work your scheduled shift for the FULL
four hours, you will remain eligible for future sales. In
other words, women who come late, leave early, or forget to show up
at all (even after the reminder phone call) will not be eligible to
sell, help or shop early for future sales. If you find
that you will be unable to work your scheduled shift and notify us
of this before Sunday, February 5, we will TRY to find someone to
work your shift for you. However, if you either don’t notify
us, or fail to notify us by the February 5 deadline, we have no way to
fill your shift for you; therefore, this responsibility becomes
yours. You will need to send someone else to work your shift.
Of course, whomever you send will be allowed to shop the Helper Sale
in your place. If you do not send someone, again, you will
become ineligible to help or shop early in the future.
NEW: VIP's who do not
complete their shopping on Tuesday night, February 7 will be given a
special re-entry pass for the following night. Volunteers who
do not complete their shopping on Wednesday night, February 8 will be
given a special re-entry pass for the following night.
Consignors who do not complete their shopping on Thursday night,
February 9 will be given a special re-entry pass for the following
night. These passes are non-transferable, and a photo ID is
required for admittance.
You may bring your
own snacks during the sale.
In addition, we suggest that our volunteers wear comfortable, but
appropriate, clothing for the shift(s) they have selected. Work aprons and nametags will be
provided.
