Frequently Asked Questions
|
Q. |
Do I have to consign items in order to help and shop early? |
| A. |
No, many of our helpers are new mothers who have nothing they wish to sell yet. They help in order to shop early! |
| Q. |
Do I have to use children’s size hangers for smaller size clothing? |
| A. |
No. Even newborn size clothing can fit onto regular size hangers. |
| Q. | I can’t find hangers. What do you suggest? |
| A. |
Dry cleaners are usually more than happy to give away recycled hangers. But during “consignment season” their supply may be limited. It’s best to ask them during other times of the year. Discount and dollar stores usually sell hangers as well. But we suggest you use old wire hangers from your closet. |
| Q. | I have short sleeve items I would like to bring to the fall/winter sale OR I have long sleeve items I would like to bring to the spring/summer sale. Is this OK? |
| A. |
We suggest that you consider what most children wear in the heat of the summer or the coldest days of the winter. For example, a long sleeve dress shirt is fine for summer, but consider fabrics as well. No velvets or heavy fabrics would be comfortable in 95 degree weather. Likewise, short sleeves are fine for winter, but lightweight fabrics usually don’t provide enough warmth during frigid temperatures. Use your best judgment with the items you bring in for our seasonal sales. Consider what most parents dress most children in, not necessarily what you dress your children in. If you have items in question, it’s often best to wait a few months and bring those items in later when you can realize a better profit on those particular items. |
| Q. |
Why do you suggest that we bring a laundry basket and a beach towel to the private sales? |
| A. |
The laundry basket makes it more manageable for you to carry your items around the showroom. Unfortunately, we do not have room for shopping carts! And our experienced shoppers use beach towels to place their selections upon, to keep the items off the floor. The use of towels also ensures that others know individual piles belong to specific shoppers! Women also sit on the beach towels as they sort through their items while making their selections. |
| Q. | What exactly is donated automatically after the sale? |
| A. |
We donate all unsold shoes and bin items. These items are donated to charitable organizations, which vary from sale to sale. We organize your unsold clothing, furniture, equipment, and toys and will have these items ready for you on pick-up day, with your check! At that time, you may choose to donate any of your other items, as we’ll have a designated area for those donations. |
| Q. | How can I help spread the word about the WeeRuns sale? |
| A. |
We have extra postcards that we’d love to give to you. You can place bundles of cards at the dance studio, hair salon, gymnastics class, anywhere mothers frequent. Consignors who place a bundle of 50 cards in a targeted location receive a pass allowing them entry into their private sale fifteen minutes early. Be sure to get permission before leaving a stack of cards! |
| Q. | I thought you allowed breast-feeding infants into the private sales. Isn't this true? |
| A. |
In the past, we have been able to provide a private lounge for breast-feeding. Unfortunately, our new location does not have a space for this use. |
| Q. | Should we bring drinks or snacks for our volunteer shifts? |
| A. |
Yes, we suggest you bring your own drinks and snacks for your volunteer shift. We are unable to provide drinks and snacks for volunteers . |
